Originally built in 1795, the beautifully restored manor is situated on 23+/- acres and boasts a grand 43'x12' entrance hallway, 12 rooms, 12 foot ceilings, eight fireplaces and two baths. She is listed on the National and State Registry of Historic Places due to her architecture and connection to national pioneer and hero, William Clark. Clark married Judith Hancock, the daughter of the original owner at Santillane in 1805. They stayed at Santillane off and on during the early years of their marriage. It is also recorded that one of the U.S. Presidents spent time at Santillane.
